Castagneto Carducci

Castagneto Carducci is located on the hill immediately behind the beach of Villa Emilia. It was a medieval village built around the medieval castle of the Gherardesca’s Count in 1000 DC
Castagneto today is a small town made up of narrow streets that lead to natural terraces from which you can enjoy wonderfull views of the coast below. There are antique shops and typical restaurants that make a visit sure unforgettable
The Carducci name was added to that of the country (originally Castagneto Maritime) in honor of the famous poet , prix Nobel , who spent a long part of his youth here and who celebrated these places in many of his poems. The house where he lived is located in the heart of the village and is now a Museum full of testimonials


The Castle of Bolgheri is located at the end of the famous avenue of cypresses, almost 5 km long, made famous by the poetry of Carducci "In front of San Guido"
In the narrow streets and typical squares you can find antique stores , art galleries, restaurants and wine bars that make a totally pleasant and interesting visit to this picturesque village.
For some years in Bolgheri takes place the Bolgheri Melody, an international festival that in the past has hosted famous artists such as Roberto Benigni Roberto Bolle, Gianna Nannini, Giorgio Albertazzi and others.

Wine Route

The Wine Road of the Etruscan Coast crosses the territories of Bibbona and Bolgheri and then continues through the wildlife oasis of Bolgheri, until it gets to Castagneto Carducci . Along this route vines are grown that create unique wines of the most sought after and prestigious in Italy like Ornellaia, the super famous Sassicaia, Guado al Tasso, etc....
The winecellars where these Super Tuscans are produced , are often very beautiful buildings, located in places where you can enjoy wonderful panoramas.

The Etruscan Coast

The Etruscan Coast this is the trait of the Tyrrhenian coast; more than 90 kilometres from Livorno to Piombino, full of lights, colours, and scents of the Mediterranean Sea , where the sea is always the protagonist.
A beach certified by the Blue Flag of the European Union and other major awards for the cleanliness of the water and the quality of services. Everywhere is surrounded by a lot of green in the pine forests that surround the beaches, in the forests and parks that are located a short distance from the coast.
The beach in front of Villa Emilia is one of the most extensive and uncontaminated of the Etruscan coast, where the sea is clear and clean and the beach is shallow and therefore particularly suitable for children.

Tuscan Archipelago

Baratti and Populonia

The Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia extends between the promontory of Piombino and the Gulf of Baratti, where the Etruscan city of Populonia is situated, known since antiquity for its intense metallurgical activity and the production of iron.

The Archaeological Park includes a large necropolis and is divided into different areas of access, that allow you to appreciate the transformation of the landscape over the centuries and offer splendid views of the hills and the coast.

The Archaeological Museum of Piombino is culturally and functionally attached to the Park ; It is located in the New Palace in the historic center of the town.

The Archaeological Park of San Silvestro and Campiglia Marittima

The medieval village of Campiglia Marittima is worth a visit if only for the stunning views that can be enjoyed from the Rock located on the top of the village.

Between Campiglia Marittima and Piombino promontory you can find the Archaeological Park of San Silvestro in an area of about 450 hectares. The itineraries include museums, mines (which you can explore by a little yellow train), a medieval town of miners and smelters founded about a thousand years ago, and interesting trails for history, archeology, geology and nature.

Il Calidario

Just 15 minutes from Villa Emilia a Venturina you can find the Calidario.
It is a thermal hot water springs at 36 degrees, which flows directly into a little lake known since Etruscan times and now surrounded by a modern wellness centre, terrace, bar and restaurant. The ideal place to spend a day in full relaxation

Bike Tours

In the area around Villa Emilia there are many routes that are the delight of bicycle lovers . Or flat routes or routes with frequent ups and downs but that crossing luxuriant nature and wonderful vistas.
